Guided tour of the Mont-Soleil solar power plant (1h)
 

You will learn a lot of interesting information about the possibilities and limits of solar power generation. We will introduce you to projects that are putting the insights gained through our research to use. During the informative tour, you will have the chance to get a closer look at the solar power plant.

Mont-Soleil Observatory

New: Combined visit of observatory and solar and wind power plant

This joint offer by the observatory, the solar- and wind power plant gives visitors the chance to study the sun from the perspective of astronomy as well as of renewable energies. Visitors will visit the observatory for a presentation of various aspects of the sun. Each visitor will be able to observe this star in a completely safe manner through instruments specially designed for observing the sun. Visitors can then choose to end their tour in a wind turbine or in the middle of an array of photovoltaic panels as the sun plays a vital role in all renewable energies.

 

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Languages: French, German, English
  • Max. 15 persons per group
  • Reservation required at least 7 days in advance
  • Opening hours: between 10am and 4pm in summer, between 11am and 3pm in winter
  • Meeting point: BKW Pavilion on Mont-Soleil
  • Minimum age: 10 years

Children (up to 16 years):  CHF 10.-

Students (up to 25 years,  student ID required):  CHF 12.-
